ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems acquires Amarr, leading garage door player in the US

ASSA ABLOY has signed an agreement to acquire Amarr, one of the leading players in the North American garage door market, with sales of ca USD 300 million and 1,200 employees.

Amarr holds an attractive market position in the North American garage door market for residential and commercial applications.

The company was founded in 1951 and is based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The company has 1,200 employees with operations in USA, Canada and Mexico. Sales for 2013 are expected to reach above USD 300 M (ca SEK 2,000 M).

The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close during Q4 2013.
