For those homeowners looking to dramatically draw attention and highlight the design and character of their home, an Amarr wood carriage house garage door is the answer. Investing in a carriage house garage door will certainly enhance curb appeal as well as provide an enclosure to protect your car, but will do so with style. Amarr’s reputation for craftsmanship and painstaking attention to detail of building garage doors since 1951 has made them one of the largest manufacturer of garage doors in the country.

Amarr offers three designer lines of wood carriage house doors named Biltmore Estate For Your Home®, The Bob Timberlake™ Collection and Amarr By Design. Each of these designer lines offer a unique style to complement every home. Every Amarr carriage house garage door is constructed using a durable commercial steel door that includes an insulating core and is then finished, depending on the brand style, with paint grade western red cedar. Doors are shipped with their natural wood finish allowing for customization of paint or stain. These distinctive carriage house models are handcrafted to look as though they swing open, yet, actually open vertically and offer the convenience of a modern sectional garage door.

Each Biltmore Estate For Your Home® Carriage House Door was inspired by actual doors and other architectural elements of the famous Vanderbilt Mansion in North Carolina. Each door combines the strength of steel with the aesthetics of wood. Exterior surfaces of the R.H. Hunt utilize Western Red Cedar as a base whereas a stain-grade marine plywood called the Okume brand is used for the Chateau model. This Okume brand is a cabinet-grade wood that is extremely resistant to water and moisture and used in making boats. For durability and strength, the wood is mounted to a 2-inch commercial steel door. Factory-installed polystyrene insulation provides an extra thermal barrier and the interior is finished with Luan paneling to give the door a complete wood look.
 

•  All carriage house garage doors are designed to provide lasting, trouble-free service.

•  Doors are 3.5 inches thick made up of 1.5 inches of Western Red Cedar and 2 inches of 24-gauge commercial steel section which sandwiches the polystyrene insulation and finished with a Luan Mahogany interior.

•  The strong commercial grade steel frame provides more resistance to warping or twisting.

•  The tongue and groove vertical board design throughout the exterior allows the wood to expand and contract while staying locked into place giving homeowners peace of mind throughout all seasons.

•  Each door comes complete with high quality, heavy-duty hardware for smooth and efficient operation. Springs and an industrial-strength track are carefully constructed for durability, and all hardware is galvanized to help protect against rust.

•  Doors appear to open like barn doors but actually glide upward with the slightest effort.

•  Decorative hardware options added to accessorize the R.H. Hunt model include Stable Studs, R.H. Hunt Gate Latch, Stable Handles and Lionshead knockers.

•  A heavy-duty garage door opener specifically made for wood carriage house doors is optional.

•  Windows are not available with the R.H. Hunt. Refer to the Williams model for this design.

•  Available in standard single-car sizes (8'w x 7'h, 9'w x 7'h, 8'w x 8'h, 9'w x 8'h) or double-car sizes (16'w x 7'h, 18'w x 7'h, 16'w x 8'h, 18'w x 8'h)
